Working Outside the Square

The Working Outside the Square Scholarship is awarded yearly to a student who lives, or attended a high school, within the Macedon Ranges and is attending a practical arts course or arts based apprenticeship for tertiary education. Scholarship money is raised by the generous donation of time by local artists who created themed works which are auctioned off with proceeds going towards the scholarship. Most years the scholarship money will be split among a selection of applicants in order to assist local students who need funding for their arts careers. Students who are deferring their course will also be considered with the money held for them until the year they attend.

Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must complete the form below and return it before the due date, and then a shortlist of applicants will be contacted for interview with a panel of 3-4. In previous years the panel has included a selection of local artists and art advocates, the scholarship founder Ettore Di Pilla, and representatives from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council Youth or Arts.
